The Werewolf’s Dragon Defender (Supernatural Suburbia, Book 2) by Riley Rivers
A werewolf who’s been running from his past…
meets a dragon shifter who wants nothing more than to protect him.
Life hasn’t been kind to Tommy. Abandoned by his parents as a teenager after being bitten by a werewolf, abused by the alpha he turned to for help, and, most recently, having to deal with the after-effects of a hunter kidnapping all by himself, it’s no wonder he wants to put his past behind him. Now, at twenty-three, he’s made a life for himself as a trusted nanny and babysitter in the shifter community doing what he loves. He may spend too much time looking over his shoulder, but Tommy’s fine. He’s dealing. Or so he tells himself.
Michael is a dragon shifter in law enforcement. He was the one who helped rescue Tommy from hunters… and since then hasn’t been able to get him off his mind. When Michael gets a frantic call one evening and learns that Tommy’s ex, an older, alpha werewolf, seems to want back in Tommy’s life, he offers his help without hesitation. But the more time Michael spends with Tommy the more his attraction grows, and the last thing Michael wants is to make Tommy feel forced into a relationship.
All Michael wants to do is help Tommy feel safe. But can he protect Tommy while keeping his own feelings at bay?

Another winner for Riley!
I really enjoy Riley’s writing style. It’s so effortless and easy to read and it’s so easy to get lost in the world she’s created. As you may know, I love wolves and shifters and add in a Dragon shifter and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen!
This book follows werewolf, Tommy’s story who was an additional created in book 1 of the series. What happens in book one is mentioned but not too much so could be read as a standalone but I’d recommend reading them as a series. Book One is great too, see my review for book one, here.
This book features an insta-love, fated mates story of Tommy and Michael as they are drawn to each other and have to overcome Tommy’s past to be together. I loved the protectiveness of Michael and the care he has for Tommy. I liked his inner ‘Dragon’ voice too, added some humour and sass!
I liked Tommy from book one and have been looking forward to his story and I can say Riley did not disappoint. Tommy’s story is sad and painful and he and Michael are ‘thrown’ together to help ‘fight’ Tommy’s past.
This is an enjoyable book, easy read in a wonderful world and I look forward to the next book!!!
