Wow, that was dark, thrilling and intense!!!
This book is intense! A fantastic opening that sets up this dark and disastrous fantasy world. I was caught up in the Gods, humans and Zedians from the very beginning. This book is intense and Lee does a wonderful job at describing and creating this dystopian world were Zedians (god cross humans) have no rights and are down trodden and used for human purposes or tortured to comply with human rules. This is a somewhat dark read and I would highly advise you heed the opening warnings as there are (what I would considered) male rape scenes and are not to be taken likely. I feel that Lee, somehow manages to work these dark scenes of oppression, violation and torture into the world as an addition rather than a confronting event. Lee has created a world of thrilling action and while very dark in some parts, the story and world is still so enthralling I couldn’t put the book down. This was a great opening to this world and am surprisingly, very much looking forward to the next book!!
