Fake Out
(Fake Boyfriend, Book 1)
By Eden Finley
Narrated by Alexander Cendese & Iggy Toma
Listening Length: 6 hours and 36 minutes.
Maddox:
The reason I rarely go home is three simple words: I’m a liar.
When the pressure to marry my childhood sweetheart became too much, I told her I was gay and then fled to New York like my ass was on fire.
Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, I find myself invited to her wedding. And I have to bring my boyfriend—the boyfriend who doesn’t exist because I’m straight.
At least, I think I am. Meeting the guy I’m bribing to be my boyfriend for the weekend makes me question everything about myself.
Damon:
When my sister asks me to pretend to be some straight guy’s boyfriend, my automatic response is to say no. It’s because of guys like him people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m gay.
But Maddox has something I need.
After an injury that cost me my baseball career, I’m trying to leave my playing days behind and focus on being the best sports agent I can be. Forty-eight hours with my sister’s best friend in exchange for a meeting with a possible client. I can do this.
I just wish he wasn’t so hot. Or that he didn’t kiss like he means it.
Wait … why is the straight guy kissing me?

What a great opener to the series! I love Maddox and Damon!!
This was my first book of Eden’s and was surprised to learn she’s Australian too! I love discovering Australian talent! I loved the dynamics of Eden’s writing and the depth of her characters. I’m so glad I found Eden’s stories!!
Maddox endeared me to him from the start. I felt his awkwardness, anxiety, confusion and commitment phobia. He seemed like a (somewhat confused) free spirit from he start and I enjoyed ‘watching’ him evolve throughout this book and discover who he is and who he could become. Maddox had a server phobia of commitment and being ‘stuck’ or ‘trapped’, I felt Eden did a wonderful job in allowing Maddox to find his perfect person in Damon, that changed his fear, phobias and ultimately himself.
Damon seemed a bit uptight in the beginning of this book but eventually he comes out of his shell and is loveable, bold and confident in who he is. He journey to finding Maddox is an interesting one and I love his sister Stacy and her ongoing pranks (which occasionally backfire) and her crazy dynamic with Maddox.
I felt like this was a well rounded book and loved the main and secondary characters. With some wit, drama and a prank gone wrong this book is a great example of the fake boyfriend trope and has made me a forever fan of Eden Finley!!
🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 4.5:
I found the Narration by Alexander Cendese (Maddox) and Iggy Toma (Damon) for Fake Out really good. I loved the characters and how Alexander brought Maddox to life with wit, humour and sass and how Iggy played Damon’s seriousness, pain and love so well I could feel these guys falling for each other. The sex is also hot, hot, hot 🔥🔥🔥!
All in all, great narration for a great story!!!
Trick Play
(Fake Boyfriend, Book 2)
By Eden Finley
Narrated by Alexander Cendese & Iggy Toma
Listening Length: 8 hours and 8 minutes.
Matt:
Want to know the fastest way to get screwed out of a football career? Get photographed in a compromising position in a gay bar. Yep, welcome to my life.
My agent says he can fix my image. He wants me to become the poster boy for gay football players. Me? I just want back on the field. I’ll do anything to play for the NFL again, even pretend to have a steady boyfriend. If only my fake boyfriend wasn’t Noah Huntington III—the most arrogant, entitled rich guy in the world.
Noah:
Pretend to be Matt Jackson’s boyfriend, my best friend said. It’ll be fun, he said. What Damon neglected to mention is Matt is surly and bitter. Being his boyfriend is a job in itself. From his paranoia over being constantly photographed to his aversion to PDA, being with Matt isn’t the care-free fake relationship I expected when I signed on to do this.
It’s supposed to be a win-win. I get to stick it to my politician dad who thinks no one is good enough for the Huntington name, and Matt’s reputation of being the bad boy of football dies.
What I don’t expect is to start caring for the guy. That’s not part of the plan. Then again, neither is fooling around with him on my private jet.
Oops.

I love this story so much!!! Amazing writing, fantastic characters and a wonderful journey to a HEA!!
This is my second time reading Trick Play and first time listening to the narration. I love Noah and Matt and found their story wonderfully endearing and real.
I really enjoyed Matt and Noah story and found each character endearing in their own way. I love Noah’s cocky confidence and spoilt, sarcastic self, which he hides behind to avoid getting hurt again, when really he is so loving, caring, generous and has a big heart capable of love. I love his passion for his new project; Rainbow Beds (which I wish was real, well done Eden) and is open heart to letting Jett (Matt’s Brother) into his heart as well.
I feel for Matt as this is a horrid why to ‘come out’. I feel Eden has a great talent for getting across complex emotions and creating the rollercoaster Matt has to go through in this book. Matt is trying to figure out which way is up and has to fight tooth and nail to ‘save’ his football career. I loved the journey Matt goes on to find his way back to football, finding his new self and a new love along the way.
I love Noah and Matt and think they have a great dynamic.
It’s a wonderful story with twists and turns and the perfect HEA.
Sometimes I wish the characters would just say what they feel and stop pussyfooting around but it all works out in the end.
I love seeing characters from book one and loved the new characters introduced throughout this world. I look forward to many more Fake Boyfriend books. Great work Eden! Can’t wait to see what Eden can come up with next.
🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 4.5
I found the Narration by Alexander Cendese (Noah) and Iggy Toma (Matt) for Trick Play really good. In my mind these voices where near perfect for the characters and Alexander’s voice for Jett is awesome and I love Alex’s attempt at an Australian accent!!! Both voice artists are great and while I’ve listened to them both during Fake Out (Fake Boyfriends, Book 1), I felt they were able to create different dialects in Trick Play that I was able to differentiate all the characters. I’ve listened to Iggy before and loved his work and found his rendition of Matt really good and loved his accent when Matt went all southern, swoon 😍!
All in all, great narration for an awesome story!!!

Rebound (Fake Boyfriend, Book 2.5, Novella)
Aron & Wyatt’s Story
Part of Fake Boyfriend Breakaways: A Short Story Collection
By Eden Finley
Aron:
I’ve always known Wyatt was hot, but scotch and half a bottle of tequila makes him so Goddamn beautiful.
After my last disastrous relationship with a close friend, you’d think I’d learn my lesson and choose someone else for a rebound. Someone I don’t have a solid friendship with.
I should definitely stay away from Wyatt. But when have I ever listened to logic?
Wyatt:
I’d long forgotten my college crush on Aron. He was never a possibility, having friend-zoned me from the beginning. But now he’s drunk and looking for a rebound.
It’d totally ruin our almost decade-long friendship. I have to say no and be the bigger person … right?
*Rebound is a 17,000 word short story that belongs to the Fake Boyfriend series but does not contain a fake boyfriend trope. While it can be read as a standalone, it’s recommended to be read in companion with the series.*

Aww, all the feels – that was just wonderful!!
I love Aron and Wyatt! They made great secondary characters and I’m so glad Eden decided on sharing their love story for this Novella. I enjoyed the little taste of their journey and felt Eden did a great job in setting the scene, the character dynamics and the condensed storyline with so few words. I felt all the emotions with Aron and Wyatt and enjoyed ‘watching’ then grow and find love with each other. I look forward to continued cameos of Aron and Wyatt in more of the Fake Boyfriend stories!

Deke
(Fake Boyfriend, Book 3)
By Eden Finley
Narrated by Alexander Cendese & Iggy Toma
Listening Length: 8 hours and 18 minutes.
Ollie:
Word of advice: don’t come out to random guys in public restrooms. Even if they’re charming and adorably nerdy and offer to help.
My family believe I can’t be happy if I’m not out to the world. I have a bitter ex-boyfriend and an unstable NHL career to show for it. A fake boyfriend seems like an easy and quick solution to get my family off my back, and this guy is volunteering. I take him up on it without asking his name.
I really should’ve asked for his name.
Lennon:
Word of advice: learn how to introduce yourself properly.
In my defense, I don’t recognize Ollie Strömberg right away. I cover football, not hockey.
I’m not supposed to see him again, and he’s never supposed to find out I’m a reporter.
That all changes when my editor reassigns me.
It’s a lesson I should’ve learned by now. Nothing’s changed since high school. Jocks still hate nerds. But even worse, athletes hate journalists. Especially ones who know their secret.

A series that just keeps getting better!!
Eden does it again in this awesome fake boyfriend pairing!!
I found this book full of humour, sass and love! Following on in the world Eden has created, this book explores the relationship between closeted Hockey star, Ollie and sport journalist, Lennon. The dynamics between these two is awesome! From tension filled heat, to snark, sass and sarcasm, to humour and heartbreak, Eden delivers it all!! I’d say this is the funniest instalment yet and the range of emotions translated in Eden’s writing will give you all the feels!! I have to say the families, and side characters (Jet I’m looking at you) add to this story and complement the characters so well! I love the bromance between Lennon and Jet and I really look forward to more of Jet, as he grows and finds his own love story (cue Soren)
I’m so glad Eden has decided to write Talon and Miller’s and Jet’s story! I love these awesome characters and cant wait for the story!
It’s Complicated (Fake Boyfriend 3.5)
Max & Ash’s Story
By Eden Finley
Max has been in love with his childhood best friend, Ash, for years. The reason he has kept it a secret is because Ash also happens to be Max’s brother’s ex-boyfriend. Complicated doesn’t begin to explain their relationship.
Best read after Deke in the Fake Boyfriend universe.

Blindsided
(Fake Boyfriend, Book 4)
By Eden Finley
Narrated by Alexander Cendese & Iggy Toma
Listening Length: 8 hours and 7 minutes.
Miller:
When Talon left to play pro ball six years ago, the hole in my chest confused me. I focused my heartache into making my own NFL dreams come true, and by the time I was drafted, the longing I had for my best friend was buried deep.
Now he wants everything to be like it was in college, but we can’t have threesomes and be reckless like we once were. The media storm would be enough to break both our careers.
That’s not my biggest concern though. The torch I had for him burns brighter after so long apart, and there’s nothing I can do about it. Marcus Talon is straight.
I need to stay away from him.
Talon:
Years ago, Miller and I made a pact that we’d win a Super Bowl together. When I’m offered a position on his team in Chicago, I don’t hesitate. I move across the country to chase a dream that’s a decade old.
Only, now that I’m here, he’s avoiding me every chance he gets. If he was anyone else, I’d cut my losses.
But this is Shane Miller—the guy who makes everything better just by existing in my universe. The guy I’d do anything for. The guy who’s more to me than a brother, a friend, or even a teammate.
I’m not going to let him get away.

Eden knocks it out of the park! A truly wonderful Gay-for-You Story! I love Talon and Miller!
Talon and Miller were the best secondary characters in Trick Play and now have their own totally awesome story!!
Eden has done a wonderful job with these two and with all the pressure, it was a lot to live up to and absolutely Eden delivers!!! Talon is just as lovably immature as he is in Trick Play and Miller is the strong understanding best friend (pinning from the sidelines). The story follows in the same timeline/game season as Matt’s (from Trick Play) as part of the same NFL team. It’s great to see the intertwining story/characters lines and thankfully all the favorites make an appearance (Got to love Maddox!).
This story is about coming to terms with being attracted to your best friend in a male/testosterone filled football world. Miller has always know he was bisexual/pansexual and it has always been Talon for him. Talon is beyond excited to have Miller on his team again and looks forward to chasing their college dream of winning the Super Bowl together. With a bit of miscommunication and a ‘fun time’ sharing a couple of girls, Miller realizes he can’t keep pinning and needs to move on so starts ghosting Talon. Talon is a bit hurt, confused and clueless at this and starts to realize his conflicting feelings for Miller. I love that once Talon starts to acknowledge these feelings (while freaking out a little), he wants to learn/understand everything there is to know about gay relations and in true Talon, fashion hilarity ensues!! Eden injects the perfect about of wit into this story and you can’t help but laugh out loud. As the story progresses Talon makes up his mind and his and Miller’s chemistry explodes! Their relationship is not without problems but their time together is wonderful and I’m so happy with the awesome happy ending of this story! Another winner for Eden! I loved it!!

Hat Trick
(Fake Boyfriend, Book 5)
By Eden Finley
Narrated by Alexander Cendese & Iggy Toma
Listening Length: 8 hours and 7 minutes.
Soren:
You know what’s not fun? Going on a Fiji vacation with four other couples. Especially when recently single.
What’s even worse is when a past hook-up arrives unannounced.
Not only do we have a history, but he’s ten years younger and a famous rock star. Most importantly, he’s my friend’s little brother.
Being trapped on an island with Jet Jackson is going to be sweet torture because all I want is another chance.
I just don’t think he’s going to give it to me.
Jet:
You know what’s not fun? Escaping one guy who broke my heart only to run into another.
Being on the road for three years has left me exhausted. The last thing I want is for Caleb ‘Soren’ Sorensen to try for round two.
I can’t fight my draw to him. I’ve never been able to.
I’m suddenly back to being the naïve kid who stupidly lusted after a hockey player.
All I can think is if I let Soren get close, I’ll walk away from this vacation with a double broken heart.
Hat Trick is a full-length M/M romance with a guaranteed HEA. This is the final book in the Fake Boyfriend series and as such is not recommended to be read as a standalone. All main characters of the series feature heavily.

OMG “Flove” indeed!!
It took me a long time to finish this book because I didn’t want this series to end. I was so in love with all these characters and was sad that this was the last couple, with Jet who was one of my favs early on.
While I’m sad the series is finished I loved this book so much. I love Jet and his hopelessly Disney romantic heart. This book has everything, with epic connections, long coming second chances, awesome wit and humor, steamy hot chemistry and great characters you can’t help but love. I love Eden’s wit and humor and she did Jet proud!
Highly recommended series! LOVED it!!!
