Release Blitz, Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway: Georgie’s Eggcellent Adventure By Sam E. Kraemer
Elves After Dawn, Book 7
Georgie Peppermint
What’s an elf gotta do to get respect?
When I’m called to Administration, I’m skeptical that the summons is related to any appreciation the Claus’ feel about how hard I work in the Porcelain Department as a detail painter. I believe it’s somehow in retaliation for my misunderstood relationship with Jingle Bell. Much to my surprise—and concern—I’m given a new assignment to become the Ambassador to the Mystical Convention… I’m being sent to the South Pacific to assist the Easter Bunny.
What awaits me isn’t clear, but I’m determined to shine at my task and show all the nay-sayers that Georgie Peppermint is destined for greatness. * * * Remy Beauchamp
Spring. A symbol of rebirth with blooming flowers, trees, and the arrival of babies in every species. It was always my favorite time of the year, but this year it’s bittersweet. I have a lovely life that’s idyllic to everyone who sees it, but all I see when I look around is loss.
For years, I’ve provided the eggs for Peter Cotton, a local import/exporter on Rapa Nui—Easter Island to outsiders—who holds a worldwide food drive every Spring to celebrate the rebirth on the planet. Sadly, I lost my partner last year, and unless I can find some help, I won’t be able to produce nearly enough eggs to help feed the masses.
Enter the oddly beautiful man wearing tourist clothes and a strange little straw hat. He’s nice and hard-working, a friend of Mr. Cotton’s, and has been sent to the island to assist me. I’m not sure how he can help, but with the sweetly cynical man around, I’m a lot less lonely.
People say there’s magic on Easter Island, thanks to the gods and goddesses who watch over its inhabitants, but never did I believe I’d come face-to-face with the manifestation of the mystical forces. And it all starts with the arrival of Georgie Pepper.
This work of fiction is approximately 32,000 words in length and doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. It is part of the Easter series, “Elves After Dawn.”

Exclusive Excerpt:
The hen squawked at being startled awake. “Who are you?” “Pardon me, hen, but I’m Georgie Peppermint. I’m here to assist Remy,” I introduced. The hen studied me for a moment. “Awfully rude, aren’t you?” she protested before she got up and walked down the wooden ramp to the ground. She led me over to a corner of the yard and stared at me. “Sit, thing. What are you, anyway? Are you here to do harm to Juliette’s husband?” she challenged. I was stung by her accusation. I wouldn’t hurt the man for anything. “I’m an elf, and I’d never do anything to hurt Remy. I’m here to talk to you about Juliette. What can you tell me? The feline told me she wasn’t human. Is that right?” The hen sighed, or so it seemed. “If you are an elf, make it snow.” It was definitely a challenge. I snapped my fingers to stop time, but the hen didn’t hesitate to squawk at me. “That doesn’t work, you idiot. We’re animals. You have no command over us. Only one can control us, and it’s definitely not you. “You heard me—make it snow. Not a blizzard or anything, but you know, a few flurries. Go ahead,” the hen pressed. I really fucking wanted to know who could command her to shut her damn mouth. I’d be beholden to that entity for sure. I pulled out my elf phone and dialed nine-one-one. I had it on speaker and heard it ring three times before it was answered. “Wh-What, Peppermint, in the name of all things merry, do you need at this ungodly hour?” I glanced at the clock on my phone to see it was four o’clock in the morning, which meant it was only midnight at the Pole. “It’s only midnight, there. I need to make it snow,” I stated confidently. “Snow? What’s going on, Peppermint,” Kringle protested, the angry growl sounding over the device as if he were standing before me. I sighed. “The chicken is…” “Excuse me, you ungrateful creature. I’m the head of the brood. Show respect. You may call me by my name, Inez, or you may call me ‘Hen.’ I will respond to only those two names,” Inez snapped at me. “I’m sorry, ma’am. Inez, the lead hen, wants me to prove myself. She wants it to snow. Just flurries,” I repeated to Kringle, seeing the hen shaking, though I wasn’t sure why. “Fudge, Peppermint, she’s taunting you. Don’t make it snow on Easter Island, or the whole damn world will fall apart, you imbecile! I had my reservations about this, but Holly insisted you were intended for this mission. Read the damn case organizer before you call again,” Kringle snapped before he disconnected the call.
