Blog Tour, Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway: True Order By Patricia Logan
Prosper Woods Chronicles, Book 4
Bloodthirsty vamps. Dire Wolf royalty. The Prince of unicorns. What’s next? All out war of course.
When I came to Prosper Woods, the last thing I expected was to be walking into a world of magic. Horror movies at the theater hadn’t prepared me for the realization that vampires, werewolves, witches, shifters, and ghosts were real. After six months, I’ve learned to live with it and I count many odd creatures as friends, not to mention my soulmate, a vampire who makes me tremble when he kisses me.
I’m hopelessly, helplessly in love.
When I came to Prosper Woods, my expectations were low. I brought Robert’s bones, numerous possessions, and regret for my role in my maker’s sheer bloodlust. I also brought Robert’s ancient tomes. When Sergio showed up demanding I give him the books, I banished him with the help of a spell and a friendly witch. I never expected those books to be the source of danger to my man and our life together.
I’m hopelessly, helplessly in love.
When the vampire came to town, I knew things were going to change. What I didn’t expect was to become alpha of my pack and fall in love with my best friend. Werewolf royalty moved into town, bad vampires were about to go to war with us, and the biggest surprise of all…the unicorns had a king of their own. I don’t know what’s about to happen, but I want to avoid war. With Sam by my side, I’m pretty sure I can face anything.
Because I’m hopelessly, helplessly in love.
Exclusive Excerpt for Books, Tattoos and Tea:Hannibal never ceased to amaze me. Just when I thought I had the little guy all figured out, he’d go and change the rules, making me just love him more and more. When all this was said and done, providing our ever-increasing circle of friends survived the arrival of the Conclave of Eight, and I was still breathing, I wanted to ask Hannibal and the guardians to stay and be a permanent part of our lives. I think Romeo will benefit from having his son close by to help him develop his powers, and I know I want the young prince to stay and become a real son to both of us. Every time I think about creating my own family in this way, I feel happy. I can only hope that Hannibal and my beloved Romeo feel the same way. Prosper Woods has become much more than a resting place for twenty years to me. It has become my home in every sense of the word, and all I want to do is to share it with the circle of people I adore…my family. I never thought it could happen. After finally admitting to myself that I was gay, I realized there was a slim chance I’d ever become a parent. Had I come home human after the crusades, I would have locked myself away in our manor house and blamed my bachelorhood on what I’d seen during my time away. I may have been forced to marry and father an heir, but I never would have been happy. Neither would any woman have been happy with my lack of enthusiasm in the bed chamber or my extra-marital activities with handsome young grooms or sojourners. I would have hated myself, since I wasn’t a cheater by nature. I suppose it was fortunate that I was made vampire before any of that happened. I’d thought about it many times. But as I watched Romeo holding Hannibal’s hand as the two exchanged lively speculation about what the Freak Show tent contained, I realized I wanted this permanence more than anything in the world. I wanted our small family, and I’d even come to like the guardians. Jacob smiled a lot and Lyra…well, that woman was—simply put—magnificent in too many ways to count.
