Marriage is Murder
By Aimee Nicole Walker

Sawyer and Royce: Matrimony and Mayhem, Book 2
Spring is in full bloom, love is in the air, and Cupid has taken deadly aim in Savannah.
Newly engaged, Royce Locke and Sawyer Key are ready to set the date and charge full-steam ahead into their happily ever after, but homicides and unresolved conflicts keep getting in their way. Neither detective has met a case they couldn’t solve, but their latest investigations will push their limits and challenge their faith when the line between friend and foe becomes blurred. And if that weren’t enough, a random encounter with a stranger will trigger a series of events that could either make or break the couple.
Love—often a thriller, sometimes a killer, but always worth the battle.
Marriage is Murder is book two in the Matrimony and Mayhem trilogy, the second story arc for Royce Locke and Sawyer Key. ** New readers should start with the Zero Hour trilogy before reading Matrimony and Mayhem. ** Marriage is Murder is a continuation of Royce and Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the next phase of their lives—professionally and personally. Though some storylines span the trilogy, this book does not end in a cliffhanger. Heat, humor, heart, and homicide abound. You have been warned. 18+

“I figured you’d be jumping all over your return to golden boy status,” Felix said, jarring Sawyer from his thoughts.
He didn’t bother suppressing a groan. “Fuck you, Felix. You were the one who came up with that awful name to begin with, and I hate it.” Unless Royce said it, then the words took on an entirely different meaning.
“I used it one time,” Felix countered. “I used regular font and lowercase letters. No bold print. No underlines. No italics. I never meant for it to become a moniker you would despise me for.”
“That’s the reason you think I despise you?” Sawyer asked. “We’ve been down this road before.”
Felix chuckled warmly. “And we keep traveling it, so methinks the subject isn’t water under the bridge.”
Sawyer’s stomach churned and bile rocketed upward. He reached for his coffee to wash it back down, fighting acid with acid. “That’s not on you,” Sawyer finally said. “This is my personal demon, and I don’t mean to keep taking it out on you.”
“Want to talk about it?” Felix asked.
“Are you recording this call?”
A scoffing sound came through the phone. “Reporter Felix is taking a break. You’re talking to your friend now.”
“Still doesn’t answer my question,” Sawyer said.
“No,” Felix said. “I am not recording this call.”
Sawyer drummed his fingers against his desk. On the one hand, confiding in Felix could be the worst decision he ever made, but on the other, he needed an objective voice in his ear. Sawyer loved Evangeline and Royce more than life, but they were the president and vice president of his fan club. And maybe he wasn’t being fair, but he suspected their opinions were slightly skewed.
“Evangeline wants to put together an exploratory committee to see what the public thinks of me running for sheriff.”
“Ah,” Felix said. “Are you giving it serious consideration?”
Sawyer nodded, then realized Felix couldn’t see him. “I am.”
“Do you want my opinion?” Felix asked.
Sawyer braced himself. “God help me, but I do.”
