The Quarterback Keeper
By Rheland Richmond & Emerson Beckett

The Package Deal Series, Book 1

Alex

I’m the starting quarterback for the Portland Pirates, and I have a thing for my son’s teacher. Except I didn’t know the cute blonde on the beach with the giant dog was, in fact, my kid’s teacher until two months later at Open House.

Christian took my breath away during the second week of my two-week vacation at the beach and introduced me to things I never knew could feel so good and be so right. I think he just might be the one who inspires me to tell the world that this NFL quarterback is bisexual and in love with a man.

That is until I blew the best thing to happen to me since my kids were born. All I know is I have to get him back. I had to find a way to keep him.

Christian

I never imagined I would meet the love of my life while being bowled over on the beach by the overeager Newfoundland I was dog-sitting. But that’s exactly how I ended up on my back in the sand, wrapped in his arms and pressed into the sand by the six-foot-five dark-haired Adonis on the beach. Did I mention he had two beautiful children?

Our week together was worthy of a sexy modern-day fairytale full of promises about the future until he sent me the text that broke my heart. And how was I supposed to get over him when his adorable six-year-old son was in my class?

Find out how Alex and Christian ache to overcome some daunting complications to reunite in The Quarterback Keeper, Book One of The Package Deal Series.

The doorman greeted me by name when I walked into Alex’s building.

“Good evening, Mr. St. Clair. Mr. Hayes is waiting for you in the penthouse. Right this way to his elevator.” Evidently, Alex was very thorough.

“Thank you.” I smiled and nodded to the nice man.

I wiped my palm against my dark jeans, chewing on my bottom lip as I waited for the elevator to take me to Alex’s penthouse.  I was determined that I would not give in to him too quickly, even though that was all I really wanted to do.

Self-control, Christian, self-control.

I walked in and entered the code he’d texted me. When the doors closed, I began the ascent directly to the top floor.

“Breathe, Christian. Just breathe,” I whispered to myself. My fingers and toes tingled, and I suddenly had a dry mouth. Why was I so fucking nervous? It was just Alex.

When the elevator stopped, my pulse began to throb. The doors soundlessly opened to an elaborate foyer with only one door. I took the three steps, then knocked. The familiar sound of Jake’s bark made me smile and relieved some of my stress.

The locks disengaging caused my pulse to spike again. God, I hope I don’t faint. When the door swung open, all the blood and oxygen may have left my body at the view of the man standing before me.

Christ on a cracker, Alex was spectacular. His effect on me had not diminished one bit in the two months we’d been apart.

Alex stood in the doorway, shirtless and wearing the sexiest pair of gray sweats that hung low and clung to his hips. So low that I could count every single perfectly sculpted muscle in his abdomen all the way down to that hint of dark pubic hair.

He did this on purpose to torture me!

Saliva pooled in my mouth as the damn v-cut of his hip muscles made me whimper…out loud. Holy shit. I wanted to run my tongue and hands all over every valley between the crevices of his skin.

I licked my lips because I knew firsthand what was lower, and the barely-there sweats left nothing to the imagination. Alex’s perfect cock was barely contained within them and already at half-mast and growing.

I swallowed down the lump in my throat and drug my gaze from his bare feet— that shouldn’t be sexy, but of course, they were—to his warm brown eyes.

Holy shit, I now knew what the phrase ‘he looked at me like I was his next meal’ meant. Because my heart was giving in… eat me up, please.

I groaned and just stood there and grinned.

God, I was screwed.

About the Authors

Rheland Richmond:

For as long as she can remember Rheland’s had her nose stuck in a book, getting lost in the world of someone else’s creation (She still does). Her love for writing came from her love for reading. She could never have one without the other.

Writing has always been a hobby and a cathartic experience for her. There are many stories lost to the never to be completed or published pile but needed to be written at the time.

She’s just a girl that loved stories so much she wrote hers.

Rheland would love to hear from her readers and learn more about Y’all. So if you get a chance… please get in touch.

Emerson Beckett:

Who is Emerson Beckett? That’s a good question.

I’m a retired educator who loves all things romance and an avid reader and consumer of well-written M/M romance books.

My journey to becoming an author started with an idea I had one night while I sat reading on my sofa. That idea became an email that ultimately resulted in me editing for three wonderfully talented M/M romance authors. The third referral led to an opportunity to co-write with one of the most genuine and kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. (She’s my co-author for Quarterback Keeper.)

I’m a wife and a mother of three beautiful adults, one of which is trans and responsible for my love of this genre. All three have since left us with an empty nest that is now full of pets.
