Fallen Messengers, Book 4
When the past comes calling, Cassius and Morgan have no option but to face the dire consequences of the choices they made before the Fall.
With Cassius Black’s secret operations to save the world in the last five-hundred years finally revealed by the agencies that govern the otherworldly, his status as the most vilified Fallen on Earth changes almost overnight. Unused to his newfound fame, Cassius tries to keep a low profile, but Morgan King’s reckless actions soon have them in the news again.
Forced to take a sabbatical, the pair heads to London to meet with Victor Sloan, who’s been incommunicado since his identity as the demigod who betrayed Cassius and Morgan during the War in the Nether came to light in the Spirit Realm.
Meanwhile, Theophile Serrano’s attempts to adapt to his new job as P.A. to Sion CEO Hugo Frost are derailed by the strange things that keep happening to him. Things that soon convince him that he is losing his mind.
Destinies collide when a catastrophe engendered by the dark God Elios strikes London. As past and present meet, Cassius finally comes face to face with the Guardians who were left behind in the Nether.
Will unlocking the secrets of Cassius and Theo’s past be the key to the city’s salvation? Or will the truth tear them all apart and give Elios the victory he seeks?

Cassius dropped his keys in the bowl on the kitchen bar and shrugged out of his jacket, suddenly weary. The door shut softly behind him. Even though neither of them needed lights to see in the growing dark, Morgan flicked them on with a quiet click.
Cassius closed his eyes briefly. He raked his hair with his hand and twisted around to face his lover, frustration overcoming his fatigue for an instant. “For what, Morgan?! There are so many reasons for you to apologize, I’ve lost count!”
Morgan’s fingers twitched at his sides.
Cassius steeled himself. He wanted desperately to storm over and wipe away the tormented expression shadowing Morgan’s face. But he knew he needed to hold his ground. He had let Morgan get away with too many things lately and it was time for him to put a stop to the demigod’s behavior.
However much Morgan cherished and wanted to protect him, Cassius couldn’t let him go around destroying the world for him.
“I’m sorry about today,” Morgan confessed. “I should have let you bring Brock in.” He faltered, his tone dropping an octave. “And I’m sorry about everything else.” He met Cassius’s gaze unflinchingly, his own tortured. “I thought I was doing the right thing when I asked the agencies to tell the world the truth about you. I—” His voice thickened. “I only wanted everyone to acknowledge all the good you had done. I wanted them to stop hating—”
Cassius closed the distance to Morgan, clasped his face, and pressed his mouth to his, his heart heavy with guilt while his soul burned with love.
Morgan froze. His fingers trembled as he slipped his hands over the back of Cassius’s to keep them there, shoulders sagging and breath catching as he kissed him back sweetly. A sigh fluttered through Cassius. He melted against Morgan, his body seeking the demigod’s heat like his lungs sought air.
It was a while before he ended the kiss. Morgan chased after his mouth for a moment before reluctantly letting go of his lips. They stood holding each other for a while, hearts thundering against one another’s chests and foreheads pressed together.
“You have nothing to apologize for in that respect, Morgan.” Cassius stared into the turquoise depths opposite him, his voice heavy with emotion. “I know it’s a shit show right now, but in a way, I’m glad it happened.” He shuddered. “The world needs to know the truth about what Elios did. We owe humanity that at least.” He smiled tremulously. “Also, knowing you care that much for me makes me incredibly happy. I mean, I thought you were insane when you threatened to leave Earth, but I can’t deny how it made me feel.”
His cheeks and ears burned at his mumbled admission.
Morgan’s fingers clenched on his back. “Have I told lately how much I adore you?”
He tilted his head and skimmed his lips across Cassius’s brow.
Cassius chuckled, his heart lightening for the first time in days. “Well, you kinda show me that every night. Speaking of which, something hard is digging into me.”
They looked down at Morgan’s straining erection and the bulge denting Cassius’s jeans.
Cassius licked his lips. “Want some help with that?”
“Do you even have to ask?” Morgan groaned.
