Now management has decided that it’s a good idea for him to room with Aiden Jones, who Tyler’s had a long-range crush on for years. And although Aiden is icy to him both on and off the field, Tyler figures with a little charm, he can melt the Ice King. But even he’s not prepared for how heated things become between them. Now Tyler’s falling for the same guy whose starting spot he’s gunning for. But all is fair in both love and sport, right?

I unlocked the door to our room to find Aiden propped up on his bed, staring at some property relocation show blaring on the TV.
“Hey,” I said, gently placing my key card on the table.
“Hey.” His gaze remained on the screen.
“You left early.”
He dragged his eyes away from the TV to glance at me. “Yeah, wasn’t really in the mood for celebrating tonight.”
Was he talking about the fact that he’d been subbed off early?
I hovered by his bed, uncertain. What should I say? Shitballs, it wasn’t like deep and meaningfuls were our usual mojo. Time to go with what did work well between us.
“Maybe I can change your mind about that. Because I know a good way to celebrate.”
I leaned down to kiss him.
For a second his lips remained immobile, and I had a surge of panic he would push me away. But then his mouth opened, and he gave as good as he got, his tongue curling around mine, doing the usual battle where we both tried to win by conquering each other’s mouths. A draw had never felt so awesome.
He pulled back. “You taste of beer.”
“You really are a master detective.”
Aiden’s laugh sounded reluctant, like it had to be dredged up from someplace deep inside him.
I wanted to dive down there and find more Aiden Jones laughter. But he was studying me, a cautious look in his eyes.
“Tyler…” he began.
Shit. My heart bet faster. “Nope, now is not the time for talking.” I tugged at the buttons on my shirt, shucking it off, and unbuckled my belt, dropping my pants and boxers so he could see exactly how turned on I was from kissing him.
His eyes raked over my torso, and his gaze heated, reaching nuclear grade when it lingered on my crotch. God, was there anything better than seeing the Ice King looking at me with those molten eyes?
